As soon as the word NMDCAT comes to mind,one wonders what NMDCAT is and how to prepare  it or whether we can prepare it at home or not or is there any age limit for NMDCAT or is NMdcat easy or how many mcqs are in the NMDCAT or how many time can you give NMDCAT etccc.....

What is NMdcat?

National  MDCAT  or National Medical & Dental College Admission Test is an pen and paper based test conducted in Pakistan each year for admission in MBBS,BDS,BS Anesthesia, BS Cardiac Perfusion, MLT, MIT, Optometry, Audiology degree programs. According to PMC, it is compulsory admission test for admission in MBBS,BDS,BS Anesthesia, BS Cardiac Perfusion, MLT, MIT, Optometry, Audiology degree programs programs in all public and private division medical and dental institutions. 

Academic qualification /Age limit for NMDCAT?

Candidates who have passed intermediate (Fsc pre medical) examination with at least 65% of marks(715/1100)or equivalent (with Biology,Chemistry,Physics/Math) as major subject  are eligible to apply for NMDCAT.

Candidates awaiting results may also apply.

National Medical & Dental Council, PMC declares that there is no minimum or a maximum NMdcat age limit

 

There is no limit for the applicants to apply or appear for NMDCAT, according to the new policy.

MCQs in NMDCAT 

NMDCAT exam is comprised of  200 MCQs and each question carries  1 mark with no negative marking. The candidate have to solve the following pattern of MCQs from their concern key concepts of major subjects.

Biology - 80mcqs
Chemistry - 60mcqs 
Physics -40mcqs
English - 20mcqs

 

Merit Formula 

• 10% Matric 
• 40% Intermediate
• 50% NMDCAT

Tips and Tricks to prepare NMDCAT  

There are following tips and tricks that help every student to clear NMDCAT

Practice MCQs Science Subject daily

You have to practice at least 20 MCQs of each science subject daily, and you can get these MCQs in the following ways

• PMC Past Papers 
• MCQs of Text Book
• MCQs from different institute books like Kips Entry Test Series, Stars Academy Lahore MCQs etc.....

Practice English MCQs 

You have to practice at least 5 English Vocabulary words  daily, you can get different vocabulary books from market.

You should prepare a topic of English grammar once a week

Short Listings

Write and learn the short listing and easy concept holding things that your entry test preparation teacher writes on board. 

Pray Allah 

Pray five times regularly and Pray to the Allah for success, because success is the grant of Allah. If Allah is with you nothing can stop you achieving your goals. 

Relax and Calm

Be relax and calm while preparing MDCAT, because worrying increases your difficulties, not decrease it

If you brain starts to lose consciousness due to too much studing, do 2 minutes of excercise,it produce oxygen in the brain which makes you reactive.

Sleep and Eat well

''Healthy body has a healthy mind''

Preparation of NMDCAT can be hectic but try to take little breaks and have a proper meal.If you don't do this,then after a few days you will lose your energy and your mind will not be able to absorb new things.According to the doctors if a person is not taking proper sleep then his or her mind will not work at its best.

• You should not use your mobile phone after 6 pm because the light of the mobile phone deprives you of sleep 
• Get into the habit of going to bed early at night and getting up early in the morning
• Instead of studying at late night, get up early in the morning and get in the habibt of studying in the early morning.

Exercise Daily

Get into the habit of exercising twice a day,Once early in the morning and second before going to the bed
